We are a learning through play-based nursery on Welby Lane. We care for children from 0 to 5 years old, and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to join school.

Welby Lane Nursery
The Welby Lane setting was our first nursery, opening its doors in 2007. It is a small and intimate nursery providing care for a maximum of 42 children. The nursery is set within a cozy, detached home with a warm and inviting feel. Each room within the building has access to its own outdoor area, which extends into our indoor environments. Outdoor activities form a large part of our daily learning provision and children are provided with opportunities to access the outdoors every day giving them the freedom to explore, learn, and play.

Brand-new Baby Nest!
Welcome to our brand-new Baby Nest, a thoughtfully designed space created to support every baby’s unique developmental journey.
At Little Rascals, we understand that the earliest months are a vital time for growth, and our Baby Nest provides a calm, nurturing environment where little ones can feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Every detail of the room has been carefully chosen to support sensory, motor, and emotional development, with age-appropriate resources and personalised care from our dedicated team.
The Baby Nest reflects our ongoing commitment to improving our nursery, ensuring we offer the very best start for every child, every step of the way.
High Standards of Learning
The learning opportunities provided for the children are further embellished with regular activities such as music lessons, baby sign classes, cookery, forest school, trips out, and animal petting sessions.
Staff document each child’s learning journey and the development that takes place whilst at nursery. This is recorded using some software called Tapestry, which allows families to log in and receive regular observations about what their child has been learning whilst at nursery. We firmly believe that parents are children’s first educators. Therefore we actively encourage parents to share information about what their child likes to learn about whilst at home.
Dedicated Staff
We have a graduate-led team of practitioners who have been carefully selected for their passion, enthusiasm, and experience. Staff are dedicated to providing the best for your child and work closely with families to provide excellent care and communication.
The quality and experience of our staff is what makes us special and we understand that they are undoubtedly our most valuable resource. Our robust recruitment procedures ensure that we employ only the most dedicated practitioners. We have a broad range of ages and experience within our team and many of our practitioners are long-standing members of the Little Rascals team.
Our graduate-led team of staff, including two Early Years Teachers, provide inspiring opportunities, which encourage the enquiring, expanding thoughts and imaginations of the children, in our homely nurturing environments. In addition, we ensure that all of our staff hold a full Paediatric First Aid qualification, which is regularly updated.
